I'm oficially out for the marathon, and maybe the half, too :( Went to run the route 66 mock today with brian lloyd. Knees were uncomfortable from the start, but figured I would push through and do at least half of the course. Shortly after starting, my lower right leg started to tighten up. This was really uncomfortable ... especially on the hills near the start. After only about a 1.5 miles, it was so aggravating that I started to half gallop for 100 yards or so. Not sure what it was, but I tried to run again after a moment and had immense pain. The muscle/tendon near on the side of my shin was hard as a rock and hurt to touch. Had to walk back to the car. Sorry brian for abanonding you so early! Hope you made it through the whole course today!

Did Route 66 mock marathon today. First off, the course is nothing but hills for the first 4 or 5 miles. I ran with a small group for about one hour and then they started slowing down to much. There were not a lot of people who continued on after the 13 mile mark. I ended up by myself at about the 13 to 14 mile mark and my thighs were so tight I finished 15 and went home.
15 miles 2:30ish
