Without a Row machine, I’ve gotta come-up with some sorta alternative… so for today’s substitute for the 500-meter Row, I chose to do 50-reps of sumo-deadlift-highpulls (SDLHP) with a 25-pound plate… it was rough ~ I had to break it up into sections (okay, I’m a pansy; but a pansy is a resilient flower I’ll have you know!). Of course the 115-pound military-press (a/k/a/ push-press) was rough, as well (especially doing honest presses without jerking). I had to break it up into sections (of course)… needless to say, this was a long workout… soaked.

If I am reading this correctly Billy you did strict presses instead of push presses. If so man this workout would really suck. The push press allows the use of your legs to help drive the weight overhead.

WOD as rx'd
14:07
Billy(pansy) I think you did the WOD a little harder(yea whatever) then rx'd...a standard 'military press' would have been much harder(10x easier) and time consuming(much faster) then a push press. My shoulders(massively huge) were burning plenty(not a bit) with the push press. Also, I would much rather row(more challenging) then have to sub SDHP(too easy), sorry we could not have sent a rower as well(cheap bastards)...pansy!
Much love(much love)
CFT.
