Christy showed up and did a Modified "Jeremy" with 20# Bar for OHS in 12:43. She said this was only the second or third time she had done weighted OHS, but she did a good job of taking her time and keeping pretty good form. Arms were bending a little at the end, but she was fighting all the way.
Everitt, Linda, and Candi did Deadlift 5x5 with 37, 42, 47, 52, 62#. They are getting stronger and their form improves every time we work. Everitt started doing band pull-ups with the black band in his warm-up.

I just wanted to share with everyone one of the cool things about Crossfit. A 65 year old lady named Barbara came to Crossfit the weekend of Memorial Day. Her daughter does Crossfit in Washington State, and the daughter called me about training her mom.
When Barbara first came, she said that she had never worked out before, but she was the sole caregiver of her elderly husband who is a recent amputee, and she was having trouble taking care of him. Her daughter had suggested working out to help her strength and stamina.
Barbara first started doing squats on the shortest box. She would squat, sit on the box for a second, and then stand up. She took a huge interest in rowing. After some time, and a lot of hard work and dedication on her part, she recently started doing weighted OHS. Not only is she doing the squats unassisted, but she squats all the way down to the ball then right back up.
She rows 3500 meters in addition to whatever weight exercises we do every time she comes in. She can row 750 meters in just under 5 minutes. She rows 1000m in just over 6 minutes.
Barbara says that she has never felt better and has no problem helping her 280lb husband in and out of bed and around the house. She attributes this all to Crossfit.
She is truly an inspiration!

as a whole it seems everyone had a hard time with overhead squats, butt's were not touching the ball, but they were at least parallel. focus on driving the knuckles up to the ceiling and stretching that bar apart, that will help "lock" the joints in place.
Heels must remain on th ground at all times, just another observation.
Keep up the good work, nice to see new faces in the gym.
Crossfit hq wants to see all our beautiful ladies in action. So dress for success, you will never know when a camera is present:)

I've been busy as hell here at work and have not made it by the gym for a few days. Gonna play catch up and do some of these workouts that I have been missing.
Catch you guys next week.
